The beginning of every build is different, so the correct answer to this question will be unique to you. You may work on plans first, need to find land, or you may compile your design wants. Give us a visit and we will figure out your next step.
Bring to the table your ideas – your wish list, your Pinterest boards, magazine cutouts – and we will work with you to incorporate as many of your desires into a dream home which suits your budget and lifestyle. Our free Thinking of Building guide is easy to use and helps streamline this part of the process.
And don’t worry if you feel like you’re not even close to the starting line – we always recommend talking with a builder early on in the process, and the earlier the better!
Absolutely! Bring your plans to our first meeting and we will talk you through the process of getting them accurately priced and then, turning them into reality.
We are also happy to add a builders perspective to your plans – this can help with design, functionality and budgetary requirements during construction.
This question is one of the reasons why we recommend talking with a builder early on. Budget is extremely important in every build.
We use fixed-price contracts and price your build once we have the plans.
If you’re looking for a ball-park figure, give us a call, tell us your aspirations and we’ll happily give you a rough price range.
Broadly speaking, we can break ground as soon as we have council consent.
We are always honest and realistic about timeframes with you. Following our client wrap process, once we understand your goals and where in the building process you are, we create a detailed timeline so you know exactly what’s happening when.
YES!
We proudly use fixed price contracts. It’s the best way to give you security and alleviate the otherwise constant stress that your build will go over budget.
We use the Master Builder fixed price contract. This breaks the price down into fixed amounts for each major stage of the build. This way when you pay the invoice for a roof on your home, you will have a roof in place!
Fixed price contracts mean no surprises. You pay the amount we agree to at the beginning. Nothing more!
At Blue Summit, every build is managed by an experienced and qualified builder who knows your build intimately. Micheal or Jordan will stick with you through the entire build, managing every detail, every trade, and dealing with any issues that arise.
You will also have the continued assistance of Miranda or Michael. We believe in open communication and keep you up to date on the progress of your build.
You will need to pay a deposit of approximately 5% of the contract, or a maximum of $20,000 – never full payment in advance. Once you have committed to the build and signed the fixed term contract, we ask for the deposit.
All the necessary inspections will be carried out and certificates issued, prior to final payment being requested.
Yes – we use the 10 Year Master Build Guarantee. This is the most comprehensive 10 year residential building guarantee on the market covering:
This unique, independent building cover is only available if you build or renovate with an approved builder. Plus, if you sell your house within 10 years, the guarantee automatically passes over to the new owner.
Once the build is complete and the council has issued a Practical Completion Certificate, you’ll be able to move in. You’ll also need to have insurance and have paid for your new home.
Your concrete slab home is a moving entity. For five to six months after it’s poured, it continues to settle. The majority of this happens during the build process, but after you move in you might notice some movement in your gib and other small things which need to be remedied – this is totally normal.
Sixty days after you move in, we come back and check what needs to be done. Additionally, for up to 12 months following your move in date we will happily fix any defects.
